250th Anniversary of Revolutionary War. NGC PF70 UC - First Day of Issue.
Since I began collecting coins back in the late 1990's, friends and family have asked what got me into coin collecting. Was all as a result of just one MORGAN SILVER DOLLAR.It was like a big History book on the old U. West was given to me. NO coin has stirred those coin collecting passions of U. Pictures only tell half the story.
Wait till you receive one of these TWO available beautiful pieces into your hands and feel how HEFTY they are and see the detail in the design! HISTORY & THE "BATTLE OF INDEPENDENCE". Our Constitution was signed in Philadelphia as we all know on July 4th, 1776, as The United States of America became a unified nation a roughly a year earlier on April 19th, 1775 at the Battles of Lexington & Concord. That is when the the the famous "Shot Heard Round The World" occurred on a bridge near Boston when a Massachusetts Militia company comprised of just 80 men engaged a much larger British Redcoat force of 800, and a British soldier was shot and killed for the first time. The Royal Mint in London is commemorating this event in history for the first time. This, in a WAR they began and LOST. Remarkably, The Royal Mint commissioned an American to be the Artist & Engraver for this dynamite piece of numismatic art!
